ABOUT OPERATION SMILE FINAL MILE 2019
The Operation Smile Shamrock Final Mile is the culmination of an ongoing running and walking program for elementary aged children which is designed to teach the importance of healthy living, lifelong fitness and the importance of giving back to their global community.
This year’s theme is “Be a Smile Hero!” Being a hero means many things including showing kindness to your family, in your school and in your world. The first 400 students who raise $262 by going the EXTRA MILE, will receive their very own SMILE HERO CAPE to wear in the Final Mile race! Student runners can encourage their friends and family members to support them by making donations on this page or by pledging their support on a student’s mile tracker by March 13th, 2019. Every $262 that is raised for the Final Mile will fund a life-changing surgery for a child growing up in a developing country who was born with a cleft condition!

SCROLL DOWN TO SUPPORT A RUNNER AND MAKE A DONATION
There are two ways to turn in your Smile Tracker and donations: You can bring it to Operation Smile Global Headquarters, which is located at 3641 Faculty Blvd. in Virginia Beach, or you can drop it all off at the Operation Smile booth when you pick up your Final Mile running bib at the Shamrock Expo. The first 400 students who raise $262 will receive an official Smile Hero cape to wear in the big race! Capes will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
