Scotts 309 Mile Smile Run
On 4th April 2025, i will run a 309 Mile Non Stop Ultramarathon in Arizona called the Arizona Monster.
The reason I’m doing this is to raise much need donations for the fantastic Operation Smile Charity.
I truly believe that a smile is the universal language of the world and I have made it my personal objective to support Operation Smile by raising funds for the charity through running a long, long way!
It’ll actually be the furthest I’ve ever ran one go so there are so many unknowns and challenges to overcome.
The race itself takes place in the Sonoran desert and will be very hot especially coming from the cold New Jersey winter.
Once the starting pistol fires, i will be on the clock the whole way, the race does not stop and sleeping is entirely optional.
In addition to the heat, all runners will have to battle through 42,162 FT of Elevation Gain and 42,463 FT of Elevation Loss.
Competitors have up to 170 hours to finish.
The route is rugged, challenging, and features some of Southern Arizona's most iconic backcountry terrain and high elevation mountains.
The run will be a big challenge to complete but it is nothing compared to the fact that every three minutes a child is born with a cleft lip or cleft palate.
Many of these children are unable to receive the medical care they need because it is too costly, far away, or too specialized.
Operation Smile creates solutions that deliver safe surgery to people where it’s needed most. Will you help me bring hope and new smiles to children suffering from facial deformities by supporting my ultramarathon goal?
For as little as $240 and in as few as 45 minutes, Operation Smile can provide life-changing surgery – and renewed hope – for children and adults around the world.
