Our family just signed up to help raise money for an amazing charity called Operation Smile in memory and honor of Shen Sung, MD.

Their mission is to help children born with a common – and fixable – facial deformity, cleft lip and cleft palate. In many places, children with cleft lip and cleft palate are abandoned or abused. Many times they have trouble eating and drinking – struggling to survive. Those that do can face a lifetime of shame and torment.

For those of you who know Shen Sung, MD, you know he has donated years while he was working and retired to those children who were born with a cleft – and many families can't afford the surgery they desperately need.
