Frank Harris
Frank Harris didn’t fall far from the tree, born and raised in Burlington, Frank moved to Greensboro in 1976 and has now been in Greensboro 40 years (more or less!). His undergraduate degree is from East Carolina University in 1968, with a J.D. from UNC-Chapel Hill granted in 1976. Frank and his wife, LuAnna have two daughters, Anna and Kathryn, who now live in Charlotte and Charleston SC, respectively.
Frank has been with Carolina Bank here in Greensboro since June, 2006 and can be found most working days in his job as a Mortgage Loan Officer with the Residential Mortgage Division.
Frank has served on the boards of United Way of Greensboro, Greensboro Chamber of Commerce, Central North Carolina Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Humana Hospital, Greensboro Redevelopment Commission, former member of Noah’s Ark Investment Club, and as President of the Greensboro Jaycees, 1980-1981.
Frank has again been involved with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society for the last 15 years, serving for the last ten (10) years as Captain of Team Canterbury a group of road bike riders banded together to raise funds for the support of those afflicted with Multiple Sclerosis and their families, as well as funding research for a cure of this disease. Support of the Multiple Sclerosis Society is near and dear to Frank because his wife of 32 years, LuAnna, was diagnosed with this disease in 1996.
I have always followed Operation Smile and this organization’s efforts around the world to give those afflicted persons a chance for a normal life and the opportunity to support themselves. I am very pleased to so whatever I can in support of this organization even though I do in fact have two left feet!
About Operation Smile
Operation Smile is an international medical charity whose global network of thousands of credentialed medical volunteers from over 80 countries is committed to helping improve the health and lives of children from more than 60 countries. Since 1982, we've worked with local medical professionals, governments, hospitals and other NGOs to deliver the safest care to each of our patients, and have established care centers wherever possible to give children ongoing medical treatment.
Operation Smile continues to provide training and education for local medical professionals so they can provide care within their own communities and share their expertise. To date, we have provided more than 220,000 free surgeries for children born with cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities.
